Speakers Bureau
What is the Sexual Minority Alliance (SMA) Speakers Bureau for Schools?
Safe Schools South Florida has joined with a number of other youth and school-focused agencies specializing in issues related to LGBTQ youth and their families as well as LGBT families and their school-age children.
Sexual Minority Alliance Members include:

Safe Schools South Florida, PFLAG, SFFP and SunServe collaborate on a number of programs that benefit sexual minority youth in South Florida Schools.
The SMA Speakers Bureau for Schools is designed to leverage the expertise and experience of these four organizations to offer information about the lives of LGBT students and parents as they relate to schools and society at large.
Other agencies and individuals are welcome to participate.
Where do you speak?
We will address any interested audience but our focus is on schools (classrooms, GSAs, administrators and staff, as well as school-related organizations such as the PTA, PTSA, teacher's unions, etc.).
Is there a fee?
The SMA Speakers Bureau is funded by grants from a variety of organizations that allow us to provide speakers for free to schools and school-related organizations. There is a nominal fee for non school-related organizations such as Kiwanis, Lions Club, churches, government agencies, corporations, etc.
We can help!
If you need a speaker on a GLBTQ-related topic that we don't list, please call us to discuss. We have contacts throughout the community and may be able to assist. We can also coordinate youth speakers who describe their own experiences as LGBTQ youth in our schools .
