We Educate Parents & The Public
Safe Schools South Florida recognizes that many of the issues faced by LGBTQ students are the result of ignorance on the part of parents and the public. As more information about LGBTQ students and their lives becomes available the more accepting parents and others can be.
To address this education process, Safe Schools South Florida has a speakers bureau which includes staff and volunteers from a number of different agencies and walks of life. We provide speakers on a range of topics of importance to LGBTQ youth and we work with a number of organizations dedicated to educating the public about LGBTQ issues, including PFLAG, SunServe and South Florida Family Pride.
