Trainers/Facilitators
Safe Schools South Florida strives to find professional educators who want to work on the issues faced by LGBTQ students in our schools. Most of our trainers are, or have been, classroom teachers, counselors, or administrators in public or private schools – professionals who understand and relate to schools and classrooms.
Trainers must have attended the workshops they will facilitate. They then go through a day-long presentation on how to deliver a Safe Schools South Florida workshop and finally they facilitate a workshop under the guidance of an already certified trainer. Safe Schools South Florida may also retain professionals in particular disciplines to facilitate trainings for specific issues.
Safe Schools South Florida pays trainers a competitive stipend for conducting workshops based on duration and number of attendees. Safe Schools South Florida arranges for facilities, refreshments, training materials, announcements, registration and follow up. Stipends are also paid to student and adult panelists. |
